Neighborhood
of Mariembourg. High Rocks was a little
fortress whose destiny has always been
linked with history of Fagnolles castle.
The earldom of Dourbes and Fagnolles was
an estate of the Princes de Ligne. In
1555, High Rock was destroyed, as Fagnolles,
during the siege of Mariembourg during
the war between Charles the fifth en Henry
the second. The fortress, isolated on
a rocky promontory was separated from
the plateau by a large pit. A door of
2 turrets and a drawbridge, was the only
access.
